We tune and service all types of acoustic pianos. Repairs can either be performed in your home or in our well equipped rebuilding shop. Regular piano servicing is essential in guaranteeing your enjoyment of your acoustic piano.
Hard playing and changes in humidity and temperature are the main reasons a piano will go out of tune. It is generally recommended that regularly played home pianos be tuned at least twice a year. Pianos in theatres, concert halls, restaurants and schools will need more frequent tuning and servicing.
Most repairs can be performed on site. Larger repairs, restringing, restorations and refininshing will need to be performed in the workshop. We can arrange for the moving of the piano.
Regulation and Voicing
Tuning is not always the only adjustment that is required. Regulation and voicing is sometimes required to optimize the tone, touch and responsiveness of the instrument. Regulation will return the mechanical elements of the piano back to factory specifications. Voicing describes the process of softening, hardening and reshaping of the hammer's felt.
Appraisal and Assessment
We will provide verbal and written appraisals of pianos. In addition, if an assessment of the piano's condition is required we will make recommendations of repairs manitenance etc.
We can recommend a good mover for your piano move. For older pianos, and especially those changing ownership we recommended a pre-move assessment. Spending hundreds of dollars to move a piano to your home that is either damaged or nonfunctional may be avoided by an inspection.
If your old piano is destined for the dump you might be interested in having your piano dismantled and recycled. It costs about the same as a regular disposal but we dismantle the piano in your home, scrap the metal parts and separate the usable wooden parts. Call for details.
While we don't focus on piano sales we often have a reconditioned or restored pianos for sale. Contact for details.
